How to care for your eyelashes and stimulate growth

Beauty habits and eyelashes

In my last post I wrote about how SANTE Hypnotic lashes serum can help you to grow longer and thicker eyelashes in 4 weeks (maximum growth after 12 weeks). But the way you care for your eyelashes also play a crucial role when it comes to enhancing them:

Limit the use of eye beauty products containing chemicals

Mascaras with chemicals can sometimes be harsh on your lashes and can leave hair brittle and weak. They tend to break off the follicles faster until your lashes are thinner and shorter. The best eyelash enhancers work better when your lashes are already strong and healthy.

TIP: Use SANTE Mascaras, e.g. Volume Sensation or Perfect Definition. With 100% natural ingerdients, even for sensitive skin.

Be careful while using an eyelash curler

Don’t press too hard and pull out slowly. You don’t want to yank those lashes off once you remove the curlers.

Don’t use fake eyelashes

Fake eyelashes are good but are a chore to maintain. You’d need to have the strands tightened every couple of weeks. If you don’t those fake eyelashes start falling off, pulling the real ones along the way. Those who have resorted to falsies have noticed that their lashes somewhat thinned out the moment they decided to take the waves off.

Use SANTE lash balm

Gentle eyelash care for fuller and silky-soft eyelashes. For deeper care, apply the Lash Balm before applying mascara. Wait for a few seconds before applying the mascara. Contains organic aloe vera powder as well as bamboo extract.

Need to know

Lashes grow for around three months before dropping off, so there’s a limit to how long you can get them. It doesn’t help that we damage them with our beauty routines – false eyelashes and extensions can both harm the follicles with repeated use. Also, as we age, our lashes grow and renew more slowly, often becoming brittle and prone to breakage.

Lash facts

  • the upper lid has typically about 90 to 150 lashes on it and the bottom between 70 or 80.
  • Most lashes grow about 10mm long.
  • Lashes are in active growth for six to eight weeks. Each lash will grow to a specific length then stop. There’s a final resting phase before the lash falls out and a new one begins to grow.
  • Lashes have a function – they’re there to keep dirt and dust out of your eyes.
  • Lashes are made up of keratin, just like the hair on your head.
